E.L.F

January 31, 2008

I just stumbled across a most interesting website that has beauty products AND some wonderful tips.

The prices look GREAT. I have to say, though, that I haven’t ordered anything as of yet, so I cannot personally speak for their products, but many other people have given them positive reviews.

They have a WIDE selection of products and even have bath&body products and mineral cosmetics!

E.L.F.

Take a look!

Clickety-Clack

January 30, 2008

Sorry I haven’t posted in forever! I’ve probably driven the couple of readers that I had away by my lack of posts.

The past couple of days the UPS man has made it to our house, bless his heart, despite the snow that is laying thickly on the ground with packages for me. :-)

Upcoming post, expect tomorrow: post on beauty basics; how to do your eyes.

Clip, clip

January 14, 2008

It’s funny how you ask for one thing and get something else.

Today I went to get my hair cut and styled at the local salon and came back with it, all though very cute, shorter than I had in mind. I even had a picture of the length and style. She layered it and gave me a side bang like I wanted, but when I said I wanted it long enough to still pull back in a useful ponytail, she nodded her head and proceeded to clip it too short to pull back. Hasta la Vista, baby.

Interestingly enough, my hair, while it did not turn out looking like the picture I took with me, looks like another picture I had purposefully left at home. Weird.

Mmm, Smells Nice!

January 8, 2008

A sugar scrub is a gentle exfoliator that is easy to use in the shower and leaves your skin softer and clearer, as well as making you smell delicious. Here’s how to make it:

1.5 cups white sugar
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons water
5-6 drops rose/lavender/ or cinnamon fragrance.

Put the ingredients together in a mason jar and mix well with a fork, adding more water until all the sugar is moistened and and has the texture of wet sand. Cover and use in the shower next time on your face, elbows, kneecaps, and feet. A little goes a long way!

New Year!

January 3, 2008

New Year’s Resolutions for myself: Wear lipstick. Incorporate some bright colors into my wardrobe.

“Fast Beauty: 1,000 Quick Fixes” by Rona Berg came today and I’ve been reading it nonstop. Most of the calamities that you could encounter when you enter into the realm of beauty have a solution contained in this book. From clearing out blackheads, to dealing with bad hair days, to developing a healthy glow, Rona Berg’s book seems to have it all and now has a revered spot on my shelf where I can easily pull it out for reference.

Anthropologie’s new outfits are so feminine and girlish! The bright colors and mixed prints are just right for Spring. My catalogue came in the mail but you can also check out Anthropologie’s online catalogue; just check out the link in my sidebar.

419ze6jvzrl_ss400_.jpgAnybody want to buy me these sandals from my Amazon wish list? :D Spring is a ways off, still… However, knowing that the temperatures on the East Coast are drastically different than the balmy 60 degree weather we are having here, snow boots might be a better investment.
